A secretary at Hagood Avenue Baptist Church, Lynne Grubbs, tells News 12 most of the people have been released from the hospital. Godina said the worst of the injuries are broken bones and cuts.
The Hagwood Avenue Baptist Church youth group was on its way from Barnwood, South Carolina to repair homes for residents in Tennessee when the small passenger bus slipped off the road and hit a drain culvert. No one was seriously injured, but all were taken to sky Ridge Medical Center for evaluation. The injuries consisted of cuts, bruising and some broken bones.
