Kathleen Woodie and Keante Clemons killed in wrong-way collision on I-840 in Rutherford County, Tennessee

Troopers said Kathleen Woodie, of Ohio, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta going east in the westbound lanes. She crashed head-on into a Toyota Camry driven by Keante Clemons, of Alabama.

Tennessee Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Kathleen Woodie from Oakwood was driving east in the westbound lanes when she crashed head-on with another car. 

27-year-old Kathleen Woodie of Oakwood, Ohio was evidently traveling East in the West bound lane. Woodie’s Volkswagen Jetta collided head on into a Toyota Camry being driven by 20-year-old Keante Clemons of Huntsville, Alabama.

A Huntsville man died in a Tennessee wreck early Sunday morning.

Public viewing will be held from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2020 and 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Royal Funeral Home.

Kathleen Woodie, 27, was a full-time teacher at Walter Hill Elementary School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, since August 2018, according to a Rutherford County Schools spokesperson.

Katie was 27 years old and has been a third grade teacher at Walter Hill Elementary School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for the past two years. She always knew she wanted to be a teacher, always loved taking care of children, loved her teaching career, her school and, most of all, her students.
