Driver indicted in Kingsport crash that killed Church Hill man

A Kingsport man has been arrested for an alleged DUI traffic crash that occurred in July on Stone Drive, killing a Church Hill resident after his car was struck head-on.
Kingsport police believe speed and alcohol use played a role in a fatal head-on collision Saturday morning on East Stone Drive that left one man dead and two other people with possible injuries. The deceased was identified by the Kingsport Police Department as Bobby D. Jarrett, 50, of Church Hill. According to police reports, Jarrett was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Kia Spectra on East Stone Drive in the vicinity of Tyson Lane when he was struck head-on by a 2006 Honda Accord driven by Samuel G. Huffine, 27, of Kingsport. Samuel Huffine and his front-seat passenger, Summer Nicole Huffine, 25, of Kingsport, reportedly suffered possible injuries in the collision, which occurred at about 5 a.m. Both were transported by EMS to Holston Valley Medical Center for treatment. Police said Huffine was "improperly driving left of center on the wrong side of the road" on East Stone Drive when his vehicle struck Jarrett's. Jarrett reportedly received fatal injuries from the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation of the crash is being handled by the KPD Traffic Unit, a spokesman said. The spokesman said investigators believe alcohol consumption and excessive speed were contributing factors in the fatal wreck. Charges in the crash are currently pending.

If you are reading this i am the son of Samuel G. Huffine. My dad is not a bad person, His mom told him to pick me and my sister up from her house right then. So my dad that went to spend time with friends who refused to drive under the influence at the time said no, Then she called him and started screaming at him and so we went. So when they went to court his mom lied and said for him not to pick up the kids this whole time while dad was driving he wanted to pull over and wait till day time.
