Friendswood crash kills woman, injures man

A woman died and a man remains hospitalized in critical condition after they were struck by a car in Friendswood, authorities said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the man was taken to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, authorities said. Police said they were crossing the road to attend an event at Brookside Intermediate School when they were struck. He consented to have a sample of his blood drawn for analysis, police said. The driver remained at the scene and did not appear to be impaired.

Woman killed, man injured after car strikes them in Friendswood

Police say a woman is dead and a man is fighting for his life after the two were struck by a car in Friendswood.The accident happened just before 7pm Wednesday in the 3500 block of FM 528. According to the police, the duo was trying to cross the street to attend an event at Brookside Intermediate School and were struck by a vehicle driving westbound.The woman died at the scene and the man was transported to Clear Lake Hospital with life-threatening injuries.The driver stayed on scene and consented to a blood draw. No charges have been filed at this time.
