A body believed to be Antonio Saldivar, 17, was recovered from the Houston Ship Channel. He had been missing since Valentine's Day.

Authorities have recovered a body from the Houston Ship Channel, and family members say they've been told it's their missing loved one.

Both the US Coast Guard and Port Authority sent in marine units to assist removing the body.

One southeast Houston family watched the recovery effort closely, fearing the worst. Antonio Saldivar, 17, has been missing since Valentine's Day, when he told his mother he was going to deliver a gift to a girl.

Saldivar's car was found about a mile away from the ship channel. It had been totaled after hitting a pillar. A tow truck driver found his shoes inside the car. Search teams have been passing out fliers and looking for the teenager ever since.

Family members have been informed the body was indeed that of Saldivar. He was found in an area that was not accessible to searchers.
