Woman killed, man seriously injured, taken to hospital, after their car collides with a SUV, driven by Danny Sandoval, 25, who was arrested for DWI, on the East Loop Freeway in Houston.
Suspected drunk driver kills 1, injures another in East Loop wreck.
A 25-year-old man suspected of driving while intoxicated was arrested at the scene of a two-vehicle collision that killed a woman.
Danny Sandoval was arrested about 3:20 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of East Loop Freeway after his Jeep struck a gray Honda accord, police said.
Sandoval was not injured, but the Honda driver was killed, and her male passenger was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Houston Police Department spokesman John Cannon said.
The Honda driver lost control and hit a concrete wall. That forced the car back into moving traffic, where it was struck by a white Jeep Liberty driven by Sandoval, Cannon said.
Sandoval was charged with a first offense of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Tuesday in Harris County Court at Law No. 10.
