2 Klein ISD schools in ‘secure building mode’ while search continues for man who crashed SUV into house.
Two Klein ISD schools have secured their buildings while authorities continue searching for the man who led deputies on a chase and then crashed his SUV into a home in northwest Harris County.
It all started around 7 a.m. Wednesday when the suspect led DPS troopers into a neighborhood off Rolling Creek Drive.
Officials said at some point, the man lost control and crashed through the garage and into the backyard of a home in the 17900 block of Rolling Ridge.
After crashing the man got out of the vehicle and took off running.
DPS troopers and Precinct 4 constables have set up a perimeter around the home near Cypress Cove Drive.
Klein ISD secured Strack Intermediate and Benfer Elementary schools while authorities search the surrounding neighborhood for the suspect.
"Students and employees will enter the school through a controlled entry point," the district wrote in a statement. " For the safety of our students and employees, KISD police will remain on campus until the area has been deemed secured."
Officials believe the suspect is injured because witnesses reported that he was very bloody.
No word yet on what led to the chase or if anyone inside the house was injured.
