One woman was killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision near Tomball Saturday night.
Woman charged with intoxication manslaughter after head-on collision
Green was transported via Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, and today was charged with intoxication manslaughter, according to the HCSO.

The accident occurred about 9:50 p.m. and remains under investigation by Harris County sheriff's deputy B. Troyer.

“If I’m feeling this, how many other people are going through this in the criminal court system or in the District Attorney’s office in Harris county? The families are now the victims because of the emotional, psychological and mental stress that’s imposed on them,” said Rankel.
At about 10 p.m., Heather Rankel was driving a Hyundai Sonata west on in the 9800 block of FM 2920 near Telge. Heather Michele Green, 30, was driving eastbound in a Nissan Pathfinder, according to a statement from the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Green, who was in the outside lane, merged into the inside lane but continued to change lanes into oncoming traffic, putting the Pathfinder in the path of Rankel's Sonata. The SUV and the car collided. Paramedics who responded to the scene found Rankel dead. Green was airlifted to Memorial Hermann hospital. Green has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle and is in jail on a $10,000 bond.

Heather Green received a 10 year sentence to the Texas Department of Corrections on Nov. 3rd, 2016. Green is not elligble for a parole hearing until Oct. 2021 and/or full sentencing date of Oct. 2026.
