Girl, 6, dies in golf cart accident near Trinity

A little girl has been killed in a tragic accident in Trinity County.DPS troopers were called to the scene of the accident on Huckleberry Drive, about five and a half miles west of Trinity, at about noon Sunday. Officials say two children were in a golf cart when it overturned onto its side while making a turn.According to DPS, an eight-year-old boy was driving the golf cart at the time of the accident, and was unhurt. But the golf cart overturned onto the six-year-old passenger. Paramedics transported Kendall Lasseter to East Texas Medical Center in Trinity, where she later died.The crash is still under investigation.

A 6-year-old Bacliff girl died Sunday after the golf cart she was riding in rolled over and landed on her in an accident that occurred about five-and-a-half miles from Trinity. The preliminary accident report shows that a 2010 EZ-Go golf cart driven by an 8-year-old boy was turning around on Huckleberry Drive when the golf cart rolled onto is left side and onto the boy’s passenger Kendall Lasseter. According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on Huckleberry Drive at about noon Sunday. The 8-year-old boy was not injured in the accident. Lasseter was transported from the scene to East Texas Medical Center in Trinity, where she was pronounced dead at 1:28 p.m.
