The annual event takes place on private property and was hosted by the property owners.

On Saturday afternoon, 30-year-old Christopher Hower of Ely, Nevada was photographing a rock crawling competition when a four-wheel-drive vehicle went off a jump and struck him. Authorities say Hower was in an unauthorized area of the track when the accident occurred in the Black Ridge area, which is about 15 miles south of Moab.

Comments

It actually wasn't a rock crawling event. . . it was an offroad race where the vehicles can travel at high speeds.
