Driver leaves scene after hitting three children

Once they arrived on scene, Norfolk Police and Fire Rescue found that two boys and one girl, ages 11, 7, and 5, were crossing the street inside the crosswalk toward Lafayette Park when they were struck by the vehicle.

Three children hospitalized after hit-and-run on Granby Street in Norfolk

Police say the accident happened around 4:11pm on Granby St. and 38th. The boys, ages 11 and 5, and the girl, 7, were crossing the street inside the crosswalk toward Lafayette Park when a dark blue Toyota Camry struck all three children. The children were transported to CHKD with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle did not stop, and continued southbound on Granby Street.
All children were brought to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, fortunately with non-life threatening injuries. Police are still on the lookout for the offending vehicle, described as a dark blue or maroon Toyota Camry. Anyone who may have information about this crime is encouraged to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (1-888-562-5887). Any information that leads to an arrest can earn a reward of up to $1,000.
