Thurston Stish, 19, killed in rollover wreck after leaving road and striking tree on Route 604 in Buckingham, Virginia

One man died and another was injured after a crash in Buckingham County on New Year’s Eve. State police said that around 10 p.m. Dec. 31, Thurston L. Stish, 19, of Buckingham, died after the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving south on Route 604 ran off the side of the road, struck a ditch, overturned and then struck a tree. Stish was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, and was ejected from the truck, authorities. He died at the scene. The passenger, Travis L. Hamerson, 20, also was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
