A woman was killed in a crash involving four vehicles in Pittsylvania County Thursday.

A 16-year-old male driving a 1999 Ford Explorer was traveling in the southbound lane on U.S. 29 when he “drifted over into the northbound lanes and struck a 2003 Cadillac sedan and a 2002 Toyota Sienna before hitting a 2005 Toyota Camry head on,” said Sgt. Robert Carpentieri of the Virginia State Police.
Woman killed in Pittsylvania County head-on crash
The teen is charged with failure to maintain proper control of a vehicle. He was taken to Danville Regional Hospital for injuries sustained from the crash.
Evelyn Hawkins Bryant of Ringgold was killed in a 4-car crash at around 5:30 p.m. on Highway 29 near Blairs, Virginia. A Ford Explorer driven by the 16-year-old apparently drifted into the northbound lanes and hit two vehicles before striking Bryant's Toyota Camry head-on. The Danville teenager's condition is unknown, and the injuries of the other two drivers are believed to be minor. The two other drivers injured have been identified as Nicole Gibson, 37, and Breesha Jones, 22.
