1 Dead After Pickup Truck, Tractor Trailer Collide

A pickup truck and tractor trailer collided Wednesday morning, killing one of the drivers. A tractor trailer traveling southbound tried to avoid the pickup truck, but the two vehicles collided. The 30-year-old driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene. Virginia State Police say a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling north on Route 15 in Leesburg when it crossed into the southbound lanes just after 1 a.m.

LEESBURG, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police say a pickup truck driver was killed in a collision with a tractor trailer near Leesburg. Authorities say a tractor trailer traveling south swerved to avoid the pickup truck, but the two vehicles collided. The tractor trailer driver was not hurt. Police say 21-year-old Kristopher Lewis of Fort Stewart, Georgia, was driving a pickup truck north when it crossed into the southbound lanes. Wednesday on Route 15 near Selma Lane, troopers said in a news release.
