Woman killed on railroad tracks at Kelso

KLOG reports the body of the victim, described as an adult woman, was carried some distance under the train.

Melonas says it was the ninth fatality on BNSF tracks this year in Washington. Last year there were 20 fatalities.

Excessive train speed did not seem to be a factor in the incident, police said.

An adult woman was was killed by a train in Kelso, Washington on Thursday. The incident occured around 12:35 a.m. when train crews members saw a pedestrian standing on the tracks near the train station. The crew blew the whistle and used emergency brakes, however the pedestrian stayed in the path of the train and was dragged under.
