Two 17-year-old Oak Harbor sisters, one killed and one seriously injured in a car wreck in Anacortes on Thursday, Oct. 31st, had ties to the Oak Harbor School District and Skagit Valley College, school officials have confirmed. Janeah Goheen died at the scene of the collision, and Janesah Goheen passed away on Nov. 11th. Alysha Pickler, 18, of Oak Harbor was a passenger in the Goheens’ car. She was transported to Island Hospital in Anacortes, State Patrol officials said. Pickler was expected to be released from the hospital on Nov. 1st. Francis said the girls were heading to Seattle to see haunted houses. The driver of a 2006 Ford Mustang, Ira Blackstone, that collided with the car carrying the teens has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault after showing signs of impairment, Francis said, and investigators obtained a warrant for a blood sample. Ira Blackstock, 53, of Oak Harbor is being held in the Skagit Co. Jail. Bail has been increased from $70,000.00 to $250,000.00 The Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has stated that further charges are pending. Blackstocks legs were fractured in the wreck, but he was released from Island Hospital and booked into the Skagit County Jail. The State Patrol said Blackstock was driving the Mustang southbound on Highway 20 approaching the intersection of Miller Road and Gibraltar Road about 5:10 p.m. Thursday when he lost control of the car in a curve, crossed the center line and struck a northbound 1993 Acura Vigor that contained the Goheen sisters and Pickler. UPDATE: Ira Blackstock was released on bail of $250,000. on Nov. 14th.
