A 21-year-old Renton man was killed early Friday when his car slammed into a utility pole at high speed, police said.
A 21-year-old Renton man was killed early Friday when his car slammed into a utility pole at high speed. Officers and medics responded to the scene, in the 1100 block of South Carr Road, at about 2:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a serious crash. A witness told investigators that the car was heading west at high speed when it veered off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. The 21-year-old driver was the only one in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A utility crew had to shut off power before the body could be removed. Speed appears to have been a factor in this accident. He said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
