A 27-year-old man was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault DUI, last night after police say he drove his SUV into a telephone pole, injuring himself and two passengers.

The driver of an SUV who crashed into a pole in Seattle’s Rainier Valley Sunday night has been arrested on vehicular assault charges. The collision occurred at Rainier Avenue South and South Willow Street shortly after 9 p.m., where a SUV with a driver and three passengers had collided with a telephone pole at a high rate of speed. The driver, a 27-year-old man, had a broken leg. One passenger, who was ejected from the back seat, had serious injuries. Another passenger had minor injuries from the crash. An officer evaluated the driver for DUI and he was later arrested on vehicular assault charges.
