Woman helping driver killed in hit-and-run near Port Orchard

A woman who stopped to help a driver who was having car trouble was hit and killed by a driver who fled the scene in Southworth.

The incident killed 34-year-old Katie Phillips of Belfair. Phillips, a ferry worker who was heading home after her overnight shift, was helping another motorist who had run out of gas when she was hit and killed.
