Officials identify man who drove SUV off Tacoma bridge

Police say Ferris drove to the entrance of the closed bridge on Friday, and before he reached the span, he left the roadway through a guardrail. He fell 100 feet onto railroad tracks.

The unidentified driver crashed through a guardrail near the entrance to the Tacoma Avenue South Bridge just after 4:30 p.m. and landed approximately 100 feet below on Sounder railroad tracks. The driver was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Southline Sounder trains were delayed. The bridge has been closed to traffic since February for construction. No one else was injured in that crash and authorities are investigating the cause.

What money damages are recoverable in a death claim?

Every death from an accident is tragic. When a death is the result of someone else’s negligence, certain survivors may make a wrongful death claim against those responsible. Close relatives may recover monetary damages for the loss of financial support, as well as for medical, funeral, and burial expenses, lost earnings, and in some cases for pain, suffering, and loss of love and affection. Learn more about Tacoma accidents and wrongful death claims here…
