A 73-year-old man was piloting a plane from Spanaway to Chehalis when his Cessna 170 lost power and crashed. Luckily, he was able to crash into a big empty field located about three miles from the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound.
A 16-foot aluminum fishing craft collided with a dock on Lawrence Lake after dark, severely injuring one woman and throwing another passenger into the water. The boat operator, Brent Portch, 37, of Yelm, had been drinking before the collision, according to authorities.
