At 10:45 p.m., two boats were returning from a competitive bull-riding event at the Tacoma Dome when one struck a sailboat moored without its lights on near Quartermaster Harbor.

According to the sheriff's office, a 28-year-old boat operator and his five passengers had all been drinking when their 20-foot motorboat slammed into a moored sailboat at the Dockton Park Marina on Vashon Island.
