Johnson's family hopes someone may have seen or heard something on Sunday night, or that they may be able to get through to the driver responsible for hitting Johnson.
No leads in apparent Medical Lake hit-and-run
“There was just a perfect combination keeping him alive until help could arrive,” she said.
It was in the evening when Johnson was taking one of his usual walks along Geiger Boulevard, but due to the very windy conditions that night he decided he would turn back early. That's when everything went black for Johnson, who can't remember anything after that moment and was found with several fractures and injuries on the side of the road, and had actually hypothermia, which his daughter says ironically could have saved his life, as the cold temperatures slowed the bleeding. He is now recovering in the hospital, and the there was no concrete evidence at the scene to suggest that he was struck by a car, investigators say that the extent of his injuries are evidence enough. With almost nothing to work with in terms of clues on a car or suspect involved, police and Johnson's family desperately need anyone who may have witnessed the crash or its aftermath to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
