UPDATE: Two people taken to hospital after pickup collides with dump truck

Washington State Troopers say 37-year-old Gerardo Martinez Rodriguez of Spokane Valley was driving his pickup westbound on Trent when he crossed the center line and hit a dump truck, driven by 60-year-old Shannon Coberly of Chattaroy.

A pickup truck and a garbage truck collided head-on, resulting in serious injuries. The accident took place at Trent near Harvard. The driver, Gerardo Martinez Rodriguez, of the pickup was taken to a hospital via medical helicopter, and Shannon Coberly, the driver of the dump truck was taken to a hospital in an ambulance, after he was extricated from his vehicle. Expect delays in the area while the investigation is underway.
