Woman killed after being pinned under truck in Spokane Valley in DUI crash identified

Witnesses say at around 8:00 p.m.a pickup truck stopped at a green light for a man and Camyn were crossing the road. The woman driving the car that plowed into the truck, 43-year-old Meegan M. Vanderburgh, was arrested for DUI and taken into custody. The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the woman who died after being hit by a suspected drunk driver at Sprague and Farr Thursday night as 52-year-old Cheryl Camyn. The Camyn was eventually freed from under the pickup and taken to the hospital, where she later died. As the driver was waiting for them to cross, he was rear-ended by a car, pushing the truck into the intersection and on top the Camyn, who was pinned underneath.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian wreck that happened late Thursday night in East Sprague Avenue near Far. According to police, a truck heading north stopped to let the victim cross the street. A Subaru then hit the truck from behind, pushing it forward into the victim, according to authorities. Officials said the driver of the Subaru has been arrested for Driving Under the Influence. The woman was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries on Friday.
