4-year-old boy hospitalized after being hit, dragged by SUV
A 4-year-old boy is at Sacred Heart after he was hit by a car at a crosswalk Sunday night.
Jeremy Ownby says his son Nicholas, his other son, and his service dog were walking at the intersection of Mill and Hastings, just down the road from Mead High School around 5:30 pm on Sunday.
“I always tell my boys to stay close,” he says.
He also tells his boys to wait for the walk sign before crossing. And that night, he reminded his boys again.
“I'm like alright guys stay close to me. I figured that would be the safest spot in front of me and it just shows there's no safe spot,” he says.
While they were crossing, a driver was turning and somehow didn’t see them.
