A suspected drunken driver on Guide Meridian caused a head-on crash that left two young men dead early Tuesday, Dec. 31, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The Washington State Patrol says alcohol was likely a factor in a double fatal crash in Whatcom County on Tuesday morning.
A head-on crash on Guide Meridian left two young men dead early Tuesday, Dec. 31, according to the Washington State Patrol. Travis Lee Holst, 23, the driver of a green '03 Chevy Tahoe, had been driving northbound on Guide Meridian before he crossed the center line near Smith Road. The Tahoe crashed head-on into a silver '97 Honda Civic driven by Brox Mitchell Browning, 20, of Lynden, at 12:17 a.m. Browning died at the scene.
