One vehicle was headed down the hill on Barkley Boulevard around 9:55 a.m. when it slid on the icy road, crossed the centerline and hit another car headed up the hill. The downhill car caught on fire, and witnesses were unable to help the driver out of the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames. That driver died at the scene, and the other driver was not injured.
