Man remains hospitalized after Mount Baker Highway crash.

An SUV veered off Mount Baker Highway not far from the ski area Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 11, and slid about 200 feet down an embankment before crashing into a tree.

A helicopter airlifted a 23-year-old man to St. Joseph hospital Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 11, when a Jeep tumbled about 200 feet over an embankment near the Mt. Baker Ski Area.

A helicopter airlifted a 23-year-old man to St. Joseph Hospital Tuesday afternoon when a Jeep crashed about 200 feet over an embankment near the Mt. Baker Ski Area. The driver, Taylor Armstrong, 23, over-corrected the Jeep at a left curve in the road, about a mile from the nearest lodge, while coming down from the mountain around 3:35 p.m. One of the passengers, Paul Davis,23, from Normandy Park, didn't have a seatbelt on and was thrown from the Jeep about halfway down. He was airlifted to the Bellingham hospital. Armstrong and a passenger in the front seat, Charles Wicklander, 24, had seat belts on. Wicklander had a cut to his head but no life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital via ambulance.
