Woman identified in St. Albans train death

The woman who was hit and killed by a train Tuesday night has been identified. According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, Shaylah Totten, 30, of St. Albans, was allegedly sitting on the train tracks and was hit.

Person struck and killed by train just outside of St. Albans —

One person is dead after being hit by a train in Kanawha County Tuesday night. It happened at about 9:30 p.m. on Smith Street and MacCorkle Avenue Southwest, just outside of St. Albans.

Deputies said Shaylah Danielle Totten, 30, of Saint Albans, was allegedly sitting on the railroad tracks near Swans Lane and Rust Street at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. She failed to move as the train approached.
