Two men were injured when a semitrailer took a left turn in front of their pickup truck, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

Two Milwaukee men were seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon involving a semitrailer truck on Highway 12 in Whitewater, according to the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.

Two Milwaukee men were seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon involving a semitrailer truck on Highway 12 in Whitewater, according to the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the semi, Mouh Seguir Hammoutene, 43, of San Antonio, Texas, failed to yield while making a left turn, an initial investigation found. He was traveling east on Highway 12 at Walworth Ave around 12:30 p.m.

Hammoutene crashed into a Ford Econoline driven by Kenneth Paul, 52, of Milwaukee, who had one passenger, David Williams, 33, of Milwaukee.

After the crash, Paul had severe injuries to the chest, while Williams had serious chest and lower leg injuries. They were both taken to the hospital, and their conditions are unknown. Hammoutene was uninjured.

The road was shut down for about three hours during the investigation.
