Six injured after car collides with rock in Wind River Canyon

Six people were injured Sunday in the Wind River Canyon after the Jeep they were in collided with a rock, according to Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol investigators believe all of the occupants were restrained by seat belts except the 9-year-old female.

Passenger Charles Flickinger, 58, and Anna Flickinger, 9, were transported by air ambulance to Casper. Wrestlers David Plumer, Jon Sanchez and Danny Beaudrie were reportedly seriously injured in the crash.

Benjamin Flickinger was driving a Jeep with five other people in it at around 10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 20 when one of the wheels of the Jeep hit a rock, causing it to roll onto its roof and hit a cliff wall. The driver was taken by ambulance to Sage West Hospital. 58-year-old Charles B. Flickinger was taken to Casper for medical treatment. The remaining four people in the car were all reported to be minors. A 9-year-old girl, Anna Flickinger, was taken to Casper, and three other minors, David Plumer, Jon Sanchez and Danny Beaudrie were taken to Thermopolis. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released.
