Driver Arrested in Fatal Crash Near Laramie
Mr. Vannest was taken to the Albany County Detention Center in Laramie and has been charged with careless driving, failure to report a crash and failing to maintain a single lane of travel. Additional charges are pending.
A Columbus man was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Laramie, Wyo., on Sunday, and the other driver was arrested. John E. Valyou, 61, was riding a Boss Hoss motorcycle and was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 when his motorcycle collided with a semi driven by Thomas E. Vannest, of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. Vannest did not stop after the crash, but he was arrested about 29 miles west. Vannest faces charges of careless driving, failure to report a crash, and failing to maintain a single lane of travel.
