Alexsandrina Hyer was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 97 at about 3 p.m. when she attempted to pass a semi-trailer, but failed to yield, striking a northbound car head-on. Hyer was injured and taken to Klickitat Valley Hospital. The four children that were riding in Hyer's car were all injured. A 12-year-old girl was flown to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old were taken to Mid Columbia Medical Center in the Dalles, Oregon, and a 6-year-old was taken to Klickitat Valley Hospital as well.

Traffic was congested at the intersection of Gibsonton Drive and Mathog Road at about 6:37 p.m., when 55-year-old Mark Marzuco entered the intersection from the right-turn lane but instead continued straight. It was then that 29-year-old Michael Moreno, turned left into the path of Marzuco, who struck his car with his motorcycle and was ejected from his bike. Marzuco, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead shortly after being airlifted to a hospital.

A Holly Springs High School student has been charged in a collision that critically injured a jogger Monday morning. Carlos Solis-Reyes, 18, of Apex, ran a red light, and had been charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk, failure to yield causing serious bodily injury, carless and reckless driving, and operating a vehicle with a permit while not being accompanied by a licensed driver. The crash occurred at the intersection of Holly Springs Road and Linksland Drive about 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Authorities believe that Dwight Williams, 42, was driving a Suzuki motorcycle and Clennell Delwayne Phillips, 27, was driving a Dodge Challenger when Phillips failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle and the two vehicles crashed. Williams was pronounced deceased at the crash site.

A 68-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of St. Andrew Street and St. Charles Avenue when a 57-year-old man in a car hit her as he was turning left from St. Andrew Street onto St. Charles Avenue. The woman was transported the hospital before eventually being pronounced dead. So far no charges have been filed, but toxicology tests are underway.

A car and a semi crashed at the intersection of South Wadsworth Boulevard and South Jewell Avenue at about 2 a.m., killing the driver of the car. The driver of the car had run a red light and turned in front of the semi's trailer. Road surrounding the accident was closed for several hours. Police do not believe that weather was a factor in this accident. The driver of the semi did not suffer any injuries.

The man, from Elkhorn, Neb., was driving a motorcycle on a Ward County road near Minot on Thursday afternoon when he failed to yield at an intersection and collided with the truck. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The driver of the semitrailer sustained no injuries.

Jamie Tennant was driving on State Highway 50 at M Street when she was struck by a Dodge truck going east on Highway 50. She was not wearing a seat belt, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the truck received minor injuries. Failure to yield right of way is considered a contributing factor in this accident.

Geary was driving a pickup truck north on the William Thomason Byway at about 9:12 a.m. when a van driven by Clemons turned onto the road from the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center and the two vehicles collided. Though neither vehicle sustained much damage, both Geary and Clemons were transported to the hospital, with complaints of back pain and rib pain respectively.

The 29-year-old man was operating a white Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of Main and South Braeswood.  The driver of a silver Hyundai Elantra failed to yield the right of way and turned left into the intersection, striking the motorcycle. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday, April 12.
