Emergency personnel were on the scene of a crash Thursday morning where two children were struck by a school bus, police dispatchers said. Police say a Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation school bus was involved in the crash in the 2500 block of West Chaucer Drive around 7:37 a.m. Police said two Taylorsville Elementary students had been hit. The crash happened near Taylorsville, just south of where Interstate 65 and US 31 cross .

A trooper discovered that a 2001 four-door Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was traveling east near 568 East Crothersville Road when it suddenly crossed into the eastbound lane, hitting a tree on the north side of the road. It then flipped into the ditch. A passerby discovered the crash when he got out of his vehicle to move the tree that had been struck by the pickup truck. Sgt. Jerry Goodin with ISP said the passerby heard children yelling for help, so he walked to the edge of the roadway and saw the overturned truck.

Authorities say several students on a school bus were hurt in a crash in Atlanta, but their injuries appeared to be minor. An Atlanta police spokeswoman says that several of the students complained of back and neck injuries and were being taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding. The wreck happened around 8:40 a.m.

Several HISD high school students were injured in a bus crash Tuesday morning, the district said. The accident happened just before 8 a.m. in the 7800 block of Lawn Street in southeast Houston. Investigators are trying to figure out who is at fault in this crash, which sent eight people to the hospital. The bus was transporting kids to Reagan High School when HISD police say the bus collided with a Chevy Suburban at the intersection of Lawn at Fair. Officers say that collision caused several students to fall out of their seats. Five students were transported to the hospital.

A father who was dropping off his child at a school in Nichols Hills accidentally struck and killed him Tuesday morning, according to Oklahoma City police. The incident occurred on the grounds of the Christ the King Catholic School near North Pennsylvania Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, where the boy was a student, officers said.

Authorities say nine students were hospitalized with minor injuries following a school bus crash in central Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the bus was heading to Bridgewater Middle School Monday morning when the driver, 55-year-old Linda Rickerson, tried to make a left turn at an Orlando intersection. FHP reports that a PT Cruiser crashed into the side of the bus. The PT Cruiser's driver was also injured. Troopers cited the bus driver with violating the right of way. Uninjured students were released from the scene, and another bus took them to school.

When their mother's SUV slipped into a pond Monday night, police say, a baby and a 3-year-old girl sat in the back row, strapped into car seats. Monique H. Einwechter, 24, of Lititz, Pa., had been driving a Ford Expedition down a long driveway around 8:45 p.m. CST when she reached the pond, located on her father's property. She had four children in the car, none of them older than 3-year-old Susan.

Two children have serious injuries after crashing their all-terrain vehicle in southwest Florida. According to Florida Highway Patrol, 9-year-old Angela Wright was driving the ATV when it crashed Sunday afternoon in Lehigh Acres. Troopers say the ATV flipped over as it approached a telephone pole in a grassy area. According to a crash report, both the girl and her 16-year-old passenger Kyle Pilgrim were thrown off the ATV in the crash. Troopers say the teenager struck the telephone pole after being ejected, and the ATV struck the 9-year-old after she was thrown off.

Homicide-by-vehicle charges have been filed against a Lancaster man following a three-vehicle crash Saturday. According to reports, Carlos R. Garcia, 33, has been charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death while not properly licensed, endangering the welfare of children, reckless driving and driving while under suspension – DUI related. Reports indicate the crash occurred around 1:20 p.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of E. King St., Lancaster, when Garcia struck the rear of another vehicle.

After getting involved in a crash Sunday at the intersection of Hypoluxo and Thompson roads in Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies told Catelyn Kirchner that her car would be towed following an inventory search of the vehicle. Before deputies conducted the search, Kirchner told them there was a Xanax pill inside the car, according to a probable cause affidavit. Kirchner said she had a prescription for the narcotic. When a deputy searched the car, they found more than a pill.
