A woman and two children who were traveling in the second vehicle, an SUV, were transported to area hospital, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening, MetroSafe said. The woman was taken to University Hospital; the two children to Kosair Children's Hospital. The crash occurred on U.S. 42 at Woodstone Way at 3:03 p.m. U.S. was closed in both directions, from Wolf Pen Branch Road to Seminary Drive for more than an hour but has since reopened.

A 20-year-old West Palm Beach man is facing criminal charges after police say he lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a parked car, injuring his child who was in the front unrestrained. Amonzo Shelton was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Sunday and released under supervision Monday, jail records show. He faces charges of driving with a suspended license, reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, and child neglect. Riviera Beach police were called around 12:15 p.m. Sunday to the 700 block of West First Street in response to a traffic crash.

Authorities said three people died at the scene of a Sunday night crash. The crash occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 311. Gina Ann Caraballo, 41, and her daughter, Kayla, 12, died at the scene. A third person in the car, Breanna Burrow, 11, also died at the scene. The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Caraballo's car crossed the center line and hit another car head-on. Two people in that car were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The crash is still under investigation.

A bad crash Saturday morning on the Westside sent a mother and her 3 children to the hospital, according to witnesses at the scene. It happened around 9 a.m. on Cassat Avenue near I-10. State troopers say a woman crashed her car into a power pole, but someone may have run her off the road. The mother and her three children were taken to the hospital and those who saw the aftermath of the wreck said they saw the kids with broken bones, gashes in their heads, other serious injuries.

DPS is investigating an accident that left three people dead Saturday morning. DPS received a call around 9:13 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of northbound U.S. 183 and FM 1185. Authorities say a FedEx truck failed to yield right of way and slammed into a SUV. This caused the SUV to roll over several times.

A 16-year-old North Carolina girl died following a hit-and-run collision Thursday night. Justice Yasmeem Smith was hit around 9:40 p.m. in north Raleigh. She later died at a hospital. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and hasn't been found yet, Raleigh police said. Smith was a junior at Wake Forest High School. Counselors will go to the school Wednesday, when classes resume.

A woman and her 1-year-old child were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Union County Thursday afternoon. Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash involving two passenger vehicles and a semi on state Route 31, just south of state Route 739, at about 2:40 p.m.

A 6-year-old boy on his way to school in the Bronx was hit by a school bus at an intersection where a crossing guard is normally supposed to be stationed, authorities say. The boy, who is in first grade at Santa Maria School, a Catholic elementary school, was hit by the yellow school bus on Zerega Avenue, according to school officials. The bus was going northbound on Glebe Avenue and was turning onto Zerega when it struck the boy, who was just steps from school with his 12-year-old sister. The boy was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he's in stable condition.

NOPD says eight children were taken to the hospital after an accident involving a school bus. The children complained of minor injuries, according to police. The accident happened on I-10 eastbound at Louisa Street. The accident will cause some delays on eastbound I-10, according to police.

Nine people were taken to three area hospitals Wednesday morning after a school bus and a tractor-trailer collided on U.S. 70 in Johnston County, officials said. The incident happened about 7 a.m. near the highway’s intersection with Uzzle Industrial Drive, officials said. The bus had 13 students on board. Seven students were taken by EMS, along with the drivers of both the bus and truck. The bus, number 63, was transporting students to Smithfield Middle School.
