Panama City, FLA Middle Tennessee man is facing charges after a crash in Florida killed another man from Tennessee. A car collided with a scooter Sunday night in Panama City Beach. The man on the scooter, 22-year-old Brandon Beverly, of Knoxville, was killed. The driver of the car, 18-year-old Bruce George, of Nolensville, was arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter. Police aren't saying whether the two knew each other, but additional charges against George are pending.

Springfield-Holyoke, MAPolice charged a 48-year-old North Circle Drive man with drunken driving after he allegedly crashed his moped at Mapleshade Avenue and Elm street early Saturday.
Sgt. Patrick Manley said a passerby reported the crash about 1:50 a.m. The rider, David D. Sunter, of 68 North Circle Drive, was also charged with driving with a suspended license.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, Manley said.
Manley said moped operators are required to follow the same laws of the road that govern motor vehicle drivers.

Jacksonville, FLThe St. Augustine Police Department is investigating a early morning crash that left a man dead after police say he was thrown from his scooter after hitting a downed power pole.
St. Augustine police said a vehicle was traveling along South Ponce de Leon Boulevard near King Street in St. Augustine and hit a power pole. The power pole was knocked onto the ground across the roadway.
Shortly after, a man riding a scooter hit the pole along South Ponce De Leon Boulevard and was thrown from the scooter.

Monday, February 17, 2014A man riding a moped was killed in a collision with another vehicle Tuesday night.
Daniel Bruce Frost, 66, of Burlington, was killed around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Church Street and Gurney Street.
Frost was driving a 2009 Honda moped west on South Church Street when he collided with a 2008 Chevrolet going north on Gurney Street, Burlington police said.
Frost was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car wasn't injured.
The investigation continues. Two witnesses told police Frost ran a red light.

Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLAn unidentified motor scooter driver died Saturday night from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Sarasota County.
The incident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Clark Rd. and Honore Ave. The scooter operator, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene.

Las Vegas, NVLas Vegas police are looking for a white company truck involved in a Tuesday morning three-way collision with a moped and a pedestrian in a wheelchair.
Police responded about 8:45 a.m. to the accident near Boulder Highway and Russell Road. The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center with noncritical injuries, according to police.
Police would not say how the third vehicle, a moped, was involved in the accident.
The truck, which had green lettering on the side, fled the scene.

Roanoke-Lynchburg, VAAn accident claimed the life of a 51-year-old woman at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hebron section of Carroll County.
Mary Ellen Keller was driving her moped on Hebron Road when she ran off the right side of the road and crashed into a concrete wall about .8 of a mile north of Creekview Drive. The collision ejected Keller from the moped, killing her.
According to a Trooper who investigated the accident, there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol at the scene.

Honolulu, HIA moped rider is in the hospital after a crash in Ewa Beach.
It happened about 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning on Geiger Road near Essex Road.
Honolulu police say the 26-year-old man was traveling east on Geiger Road when he lost control of his moped.
He sustained head and internal injuries and was transported to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
It is not known if speed or alcohol was involved in the crash.
The man was not wearing a helmet.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014A man has died after crashing his moped Thursday night in High Point.
Police said Keith Even Martin, 56, of High Point, was traveling south on Old Plank Road around 7 p.m.
Officers said he collided with a traffic circle at the intersection of Old Plank Road and Hitchcock Way.
Martin was thrown from his moped and died at the scene of serious head injuries, police said.
Authorities said Martin was wearing a DOT approved helmet, but the helmet wasn't properly fastened to his head.

Phoenix, AZThe driver of a scooter was killed in a collision with a car at a busy Paradise Valley intersection as the morning rush hour got underway Monday.
The scooter was northbound on Tatum Boulevard about 7:38 a.m. when it collided with the southbound vehicle that was turning left onto Lincoln Drive, said the Paradise Valley Police Department.
Police said the driver had let several vehicles pass through the intersection and told officers he thought the road was clear when he started to turn.
The scooter's rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The car's driver was not injured.
