A man was pulling out of a dairy in Mountain Home just before 7 a.m. Tuesday when his vehicle collided first with a van, the was T-boned by a school bus. The car driver was killed. The bus was from the Mountain Home School district and was carrying six elementary- and junior high-aged students, none of whom were injured. What personal injury victims need to know:

A crash between a pickup truck and a school bus has sent one man to the hospital in critical condition. The accident occured at the intersection of Broad Street and Central Avenue, west of Interstate 275, around 6:44 a.m. when the driver of the pickup ran a red light and collided with the side of the bus. None of the four students on the bus were injured. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in critical condition.

Norwich police say nine children suffered minor injuries when a Jeep driven by an off-duty city police officer crashed with a school bus. Police say the Jeep driven by Daniel Collins of Colchester crossed the double-yellow line on Asylum Street Thursday morning and sideswiped the bus, which had 25 students aboard. The nine injured students were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated and released. Police say they are investigating and claim sun glare may have been a contributing factor in the accident. The bus was heading north, the Jeep was southbound.

Though 12 students were taken to the Medical University of South Carolina and to St. Francis Hospital, there were around 31 students total on the bus.

A Durham County public school bus was involved in an accident late Monday morning. The accident happened along NC Highway 98 at Breedlove Avenue in east Durham just before noon, right as schools were releasing early due to inclement weather. According to Chip Sudderth with Durham Public Schools, eight high school students from City of Medicine Academy were on board Bus 418 when a black car collided into the side of the bus. Images from the scene showed the car with heavy damage, but it was unclear what caused the accident.

A 16-year-old Middle Creek High School student is due in Wake County court Tuesday on a charge that he fled after a car he was driving sideswiped a school bus shortly after classes let out for the day Thursday. Cary police arrested Kenneth Austin Alexander at his home at 5632 Monarch Birch Drive, an Apex address in unincorporated Wake County, shortly before 5 p.m., arrest records show. Alexander was charged with failing to stop after an accident, careless and reckless driving and having more than one person under 21 in the car with him while he has a provisional driver’s license.
