Authorities said three people died at the scene of a Sunday night crash. The crash occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 311. Gina Ann Caraballo, 41, and her daughter, Kayla, 12, died at the scene. A third person in the car, Breanna Burrow, 11, also died at the scene. The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Caraballo's car crossed the center line and hit another car head-on. Two people in that car were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The crash is still under investigation.

Four people were hurt after a head-on crash involving an ambulance in Buffalo Township Saturday morning. The collision happened on County Highway 35 Northeast and Eaken Avenue Northeast around 1:30 a.m. The Wright County Sheriff's Office says an Allina Ambulance, which was west on County Road 35, had one patient and two EMTs inside when it collided with an eastbound SUV. The SUV had one person inside. Everyone was taken to various hospitals. Names have not been released. The crash remains under investigation.

A driver fleeing police Friday collided head-on with another car, bailed out on foot, then failed to scale a fence before throwing himself to the ground and surrendering to police. The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Carl Smith. The pursuit started just before 3 p.m. near Florence Avenue and Flower Street in South Los Angeles, police said. The pursuit wound through streets for about 30 minutes. At one point the vehicle nearly hit a truck. The chase transitioned to the Century (105) Freeway, clocking speeds of 100, before going back onto the streets.

Police in Salisbury are investigating after pregnant woman was involved in a head-on crash that killed her unborn child. According to the Salisbury Police Department, officers were called to a crash along the 300 block of South Main Street near the intersection of West Horah St. around noon on Friday. Officers say a 2011 Chevrolet car and 2002 Ford pickup truck had struck head on. Witnesses told police that the driver of the Chevrolet, a pregnant woman, was driving left of center for about a block before the crash.

Two Akron police officers were injured in a head-on crash at 5th Avenue and South Arlington Street around 9 p.m. Thursday night. According to police, the officers were southbound on South Arlington Street when a woman driving a Buick turned into their path, and they hit head-on. The two officers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said the woman appeared to be intoxicated and suffered minor injures in the crash. According to police the officers were treated and released from the hospital around 3 a.m.

One person was hurt after a head-on crash early Wednesday morning near Port Mayaca. At 6:30am rescue crews responded to the 14977 block area of US 441 for reports of a sugarcane truck accident. First-arriving crews found heavy damage to both vehicles, according to Cpt. Albert Borroto with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. A man was taken to Lakeside Medical in Belle Glade for treatment.

A woman has died after the car she was driving crashed head-on with a garbage truck south of St. Charles, the Saginaw County Sheriff's Department reports. The crash happened about 10:17 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, on highway M-52, also known as Graham, south of St. Charles and north of Ring, Saginaw County Central Dispatch reports. "A Billy's trash truck was involved and that was going southbound when a northbound vehicle came around the curve and went into the southbound lane and hit the truck head-on," a Saginaw County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Mark said.

Police are investigating a head-on crash in Mission Valley Monday night involving a suspected drunken driver that left four people, including a pregnant woman, injured. The collision on Hotel Circle South near Taylor Street was reported about 10:10 p.m., San Diego police said. A 43-year-old man driving a Ford F-150 was heading west when he drifted across the road and slammed into a Nissan Versa, police said.

Near white-out conditions northeastern Utah’s Highway 89 are suspected to have contributed to a head-on crash that killed a woman and sent at least one other person to the hospital late Monday morning. A Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. said blowing, heavy snowfall made visibility a challenge when the 10:38 a.m. crash occurred on Highway 89, about 5 miles west of Garden City in Rich County. UHP said the woman died at the scene. At least one person in the second vehicle was transported to Logan Regional Hospital in unspecified condition.
