Two Akron police officers were injured in a head-on crash at 5th Avenue and South Arlington Street around 9 p.m. Thursday night.
Two Akron police officers were injured in a head-on crash at 5th Avenue and South Arlington Street around 9 p.m. Thursday night. According to police, the officers were southbound on South Arlington Street when a woman driving a Buick turned into their path, and they hit head-on. The two officers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said the woman appeared to be intoxicated and suffered minor injures in the crash. According to police the officers were treated and released from the hospital around 3 a.m. The woman who caused the accident remains in the hospital and has not been charged yet. The patrol car came to rest on the steps of the Bethel Baptist Church with heavy front end damage.
