Nine migrant workers were injured Tuesday evening when the bus they were traveling in overturned in the 30,000 block of Okeechobee Road (State Road 70) near Fort Pierce, said St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
The small migrant labor bus ran off the road, hit the median and landed on its side, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
He said the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. in rainy conditions.
Fort Pierce police officers are investigating a traffic crash that left a 53-year-old man dead.
On Friday around 5:45 p.m., Fort Pierce resident Tony Knight was riding a bicycle west across North 25th Street near Avenue G.
Knight was hit by a vehicle driven by Michael Sanders, according to police. Sanders was heading north on North 25th Street.
Sanders, 45, of Fort Pierce underwent a toxicology test and investigators are awaiting results.
A man in his 50s is in critical condition after he was struck by an SUV while riding his bicycle in Fort Pierce Thursday morning. The SUV involved in the crash did not stop. According to St. Lucie Fire Rescue, the man was riding his bike on 25th Street near Orange Avenue around 10:10 a.m. when he was hit. Fort Pierce Police officers are investigating the crash. There is no information on the driver of the vehicle or description of the SUV at this time.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol release, a motorcyclist involved in a crash at the intersection of Indrio Road and Johnston Road in St. Lucie County, was taken to Lawnwood Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver of a Dodge pickup was traveling eastbound on Indrio Road attempting to turn left onto Johnston Road, stated the release.
