The couple were heading northbound on their motorcycle just south of St. Lucie Boulevard around 9 p.m. on Sept. 27. The motorcycle rear-ended a van and the two were ejected from their bike, after which another vehicle ran over Lisa Maynard and left the scene. Lisa was pronounced dead at the scene, while Tom was pronounced dead after being brought to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.

A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in a central Florida school bus crash. The St. Lucie County school bus was carrying seven students when 94-year-old Frances McNees crashed into it at an intersection. Officials say the boy was airlifted to a West Palm Beach hospital. He was suffering from a head injury.

Nine migrant workers were injured Tuesday evening when the bus they were traveling in overturned in the 30,000 block of Okeechobee Road (State Road 70) near Fort Pierce, said St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

The small migrant labor bus ran off the road, hit the median and landed on its side, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

He said the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. in rainy conditions.

Port St. Lucie police say they found the car suspected of striking a student around 6:45 a.m. Monday. Investigators say they were called to the 500 block of SW Lucero Drive where they found a person, later identified as Diana Andrea Gil, 18, lying on the side of the road. They say a car struck her and propelled her 30 feet into the swale and then left on the north side of the street.

Fort Pierce police officers are investigating a traffic crash that left a 53-year-old man dead.

On Friday around 5:45 p.m., Fort Pierce resident Tony Knight was riding a bicycle west across North 25th Street near Avenue G.

Knight was hit by a vehicle driven by Michael Sanders, according to police. Sanders was heading north on North 25th Street.

Sanders, 45, of Fort Pierce underwent a toxicology test and investigators are awaiting results.

A man in his 50s is in critical condition after he was struck by an SUV while riding his bicycle in Fort Pierce Thursday morning. The SUV involved in the crash did not stop. According to St. Lucie Fire Rescue, the man was riding his bike on 25th Street near Orange Avenue around 10:10 a.m. when he was hit. Fort Pierce Police officers are investigating the crash. There is no information on the driver of the vehicle or description of the SUV at this time.

Port St. Lucie Police are investigating a traffic crash that killed a 61-year-old woman Wednesday morning. Officers responded to the intersection of S.W. Hunnicut Avenue and S.W. Savona Boulevard just before 9 a.m. in response to a serious crash involving a 2004 Saturn Ion driven by Josephine Lopez, 61, of Port St. Lucie and a 2011 Toyota Prius driven by Shannon Patterson. Police say the initial investigation into the crash revealed that Lopez failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection, causing Patterson to collide with Lopez's vehicle.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol release, a motorcyclist involved in a crash at the intersection of Indrio Road and Johnston Road in St. Lucie County, was taken to Lawnwood Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver of a Dodge pickup was traveling eastbound on Indrio Road attempting to turn left onto Johnston Road, stated the release.

A Port St. Lucie man was arrested on Thursday for leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, after he allegedly rammed into a car an ex-roommate was riding in, authorities said. Joseph Day and Ashley Biasetti told Port St. Lucie Police that Biasetti’s ex-roommate, Bryan Douglas Dotts, had smashed into the car they were in then drove away, according to a probable cause affidavit. Biasetti said that she went to a Walmart with Dotts, 50, but got out of his car and jumped into Day’s vehicle.
