Police are investigating whether a driver who was killed when his car plunged off a Westchester bridge early Wednesday was drag racing before the crash, authorities say.

The 21-year-old man, identified as Christopher Seguinot, of West Harrison, was headed north on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Dobbs Ferry in a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro at about 12:10 a.m. when the car went off an exit, smashed through a guardrail and flew off the Ashford Avenue Bridge, police say.

Mount Pleasant Police have identified Alexandra Turcsanyi, 40, as the woman who was killed Friday morning when her Pilot SUV hit a stone wall and a utility pole on Columbus Avenue in Valhalla.

Turcsanyi, whose address was not given, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that occurred at about 4 a.m. on July 18. The driver was trapped in the car when the roof and front of the car were crushed by the utility pole. No one else was injured.

Mount Pleasant Police are investigating and asked any witnesses to call detectives at 914-769-1941.

Authorities have released the names of those involved in a fatal two-car crash in Livingston County. It happened around 6 a.m. Thursday on Route 256 in Sparta. The Sheriff's Office says a southbound car driven by John Linehan of Livonia was passing a southbound dump truck hauling a backhoe and crashed into an oncoming car. The crash killed the other driver, Theodore Markel of Dansville. The crash injured Linehan and two of Markel's passengers -- Matthew Markel and Joe Greene, both of Dansville.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. — The southbound Sprain Brook Parkway was closed for nearly five hours in Greenburgh on Sunday after a fatal accident that occurred at approximately 1 p.m. just north of the I-287 interchange.

Motorcyclist Scott Phillips, 45, of West New York, N.J., was killed and another motorcyclist critically injured in the accident, according to LoHud.com.

Nine people were taken to the hospital with injuries, many of them serious, after an SUV crash on a highway in the Bronx that may have been speed-related, officials say.

Rescuers were alerted to the one-car crash on Interstate 95 in Eastchester around 5:15 a.m. Friday, officials say.

A black SUV that apparently slammed into a barrier near an exit ramp at the crash site. Police say all the people inside the SUV were in their 20s and 30s, and emergency crews had to rip the doors off the vehicle to get them out.

Three people were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries Thursday afternoon after a Chevy pickup truck traveling northbound on I-684 crossed the median just north of exit 6 and struck five vehicles in the southbound lane before rolling over and landing on a Subaru, state police said.

The accident occurred around 3:50 p.m. when police said the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado apparently lost control and jumped guide rail and drove into the oncoming traffic. After it came to rest on top of a 2001 Subaru all southbound lanes of travel blocked.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly accident in the Town of Sparta. It happened just before 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The Sheriff stated that a 12-year-old boy was killed after he was struck by a car on Route 63, south of Parker Hill Road.

"He was outside doing what he should be doing on a nice spring day playing ball in the side yard and from what witnesses are telling us, his ball rolled out in the roadway and he went to cross and was struck by the vehicle," said the Sheriff

New York state police say a life was lost in a crash that tied up the New England Thruway for hours between Westchester County and Connecticut.

The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. Friday in Rye near the entrance ramp from I-287 to northbound I-95.

The ensuing traffic jam continued into the morning rush-hour.

Police say a car struck a parked State Thruway pickup truck. The truck rolled and the car hit a concrete barrier.

The person who died was riding in the front seat of the car. A back-seat passenger suffered serious injuries.

A baby girl was killed in a fiery crash on a Westchester highway Tuesday morning when the vehicle she was in, driven by her father, slammed into a tree, police say. The 24-year-old father appeared to be speeding alongside another car on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers when he veered from the right lane across two lanes of traffic, went up an embankment and struck the tree shortly before 11:30 a.m., just south of the Jackson Avenue exit, Yonkers and state police said.
