A Hamilton man died after his car was struck by a train on Saturday morning. The Butler County Sheriff's Office said Johnny Robbins, 38, of Hamilton, was traveling northbound on Hamilton-Eaton Road just after 1 a.m. when his car failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line and hit a guardrail before coming to rest on railroad tracks as a freight train approached. The train struck Robbins' car and pushed it along the tracks for approximately 1,600 feet before the train could come to a complete stop. Robbins was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

A 16-year-old has died from her injuries after a car crash in South Euclid on Telhurst Rd, near South Green. The single car accident happened around 1p.m. Saturday when a Pontiac Grand Am struck a tree and then a telephone pole. According to the Cuyahoga County medical examiner’s office decedent list Karly Ciuprinskas has been identified as the deceased victim. Ciuprinskas was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other teens were in the car at the time of the accident. They were taken to an area hospital, their conditions are unknown at this time a South Euclid Police Sergeant said.

An officer is fighting for his life following an early Saturday morning crash that involved an alleged drunk driver. The crash happened around 12:16 a.m. on Station Road, just north Grafton Road in Liverpool Township. Ohio State Highway Troopers said Dalton P. Phillips, 23, of Columbia Station, was driving northbound on Station Rd. when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the east side of the road.

Troopers say a driver running a stop sign is to blame for a crash on state Route 188 Wednesday night.

According to troopers from the Lancaster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mary S. Mathias, 61, of Lancaster, was traveling southbound on state Route 188 in a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero. At the same time, Dallas A. Schilling, 29, of Baltimore was traveling westbound on Highpoint Road in a 2002 Hyundai Accent.

Schilling failed to yield to a stop sign on Highpoint Road at S.R. 188 and struck the side of Mathias' vehicle.

A 24-year-old man police said crashed into a stopped zone car and fled Friday night is also accused of being drunk and not having a license, according to court records. Edward Hughes Jr. faces drunken driving and open container charges, as well as failing to stop at an accident, failure to control and not having a driver's license, according to Cleveland Municipal Court records. Two officers were stopped in traffic at East 93rd Street and Kinsman Avenue about 9:55 p.m. Friday when Hughes struck the car, police said.

A 20-year-old student from Eastern Michigan University died over the weekend in a vehicle accident in Ohio.

Bianca Bepler’s vehicle was found partially submerged Sunday in the Otter Creek in Oregon, Ohio.

Police said in a news release that it appears the vehicle failed to stop for a flashing red traffic signal on Millard Avenue, crashed through a guardrail and “vaulted off the end of the roadway into the swampy area.” The vehicle, a black Chevrolet Impala, was found overturned east of the intersection of Millard Avenue and Otter Creek Road.

Three people killed last night in a crash in Union County included a 2-year-old and a 17-year-old Dublin high school student. The Union County sheriff’s office identified the dead as Joshua Fraley, 30, and Easton Fraley, 2, both of Mechanicsburg, and Olivia Aicher, 17, of Dublin. Three others who were not identified, including a child, were injured in the crash and taken to separate hospitals.

Two people died Sunday afternoon in a fatal crash on U.S. Route 22 in Fairfield County. Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash on U.S. 22 east of state Route 159 just outside Lancaster at about 2:40 p.m. Sunday. According to officers, a man, identified as Robert Kaelbli, 77, was driving a silver Toyota Camry, westbound on U.S. 22, crossed the center line and collided with a black Honda Civic with two female occupants that was headed eastbound.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies say alcohol was a factor in an early morning crash that injured three people. The crash occurred about 2:40 a,m on Kellogg Avenue as Steve Wayne Taulbee, 22, was driving east, Hamilton County deputies said. Taulbee changed lanes to the left and lost control of his 1995 Honda Accord. The car left the road and its left side struck a wall, the Honda then bounced off the wall and the front left corner hit a utility pole. Taulbee, of New Richmond, and two passengers in his back seat were injured, deputies aid.

Police have reopened I-70 West on the west side after a crash involving two semis.

At about 2:40 p.m. Columbus police were called to report of a crash on Interstate 70 West near West Broad Street.

Dispatchers said two semis were involved in the crash.

Police reopened the freeway just before 3:30 p.m.
