The funeral for a popular air show pilot who died in a plane crash over the weekend will be held Monday at the Fargo Air Museum.

Jim “Fang” Maroney died Sunday when he crashed his plane into the side of a mountain south of Knoxville, Tenn., in the Cherokee National Forest.

It took crews some time to recover his body, but it has been retrieved and it will be sent to Fargo on Friday, said Dick Walstad, co-chairman of the Fargo AirSho.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. at the Fargo Air Museum, 1609 19th Ave. N., Walstad said.

Oxford Police arrested a 23-year-old Anniston man Tuesday on multiple charges related to a hit-and-run accident Sunday.

Police said Rodrick Jamar Montgomery was released on $30,000 bond Tuesday and faces charges of manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and texting while driving.

The accident occurred Sunday night in the 2200 block of Barry Street. Ricky Lee Suddarth, 47, was found by the side of the road by a man walking his dog. Investigators took debris from the scene and traced it to a tan 2004 Ford Explorer belonging to Montgomery, police said.

The driver of a car involved in a fatal Dillon County crash Sunday night has been charged with felony DUI.

South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators charged Samantha Carmichael with the death of the passenger in her vehicle, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said.

The Dillon County Coroner identified the victim as Ore Lee Carmichael, 66, of Dillon.

She was pronounced dead at a Dillon County hospital where she and Samantha Carmichael -- her daughter -- were taken for treatment of injuries following the crash.

Police say a man who was driving while intoxicated with three children in his car struck a pole in Brooklyn, critically injuring one of the children.

Anthony Pollydore was allegedly drunk while driving down Eastern Parkway at 8 a.m. when he struck the pole near Dean Street. An 11-year-old child who was in the car is now in critical condition at Kings County Hospital.

The other children in the car, 12 and 5, suffered minor injuries.

A shuttle bus transporting a group back from a birthday party collided with a car and overturned before dawn Sunday along a highway south of the nation's capital, leaving one person dead and sending 16 others to the hospital, Virginia State Police said.

The bus was headed south on Interstate 95 when witnesses reported seeing a speeding white sedan swerve into the bus's lane. Virginia State Police initially said the bus swerved to avoid the car and then overturned, but later said the two vehicles collided, causing the bus driver to lose control, drive off the road and overturn.

A car hit a bicyclist who was possibly under the influence of alcohol while riding outside Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and bicyclist at Great Highway and Lincoln Avenue around 3:50 p.m., police said.

The bicyclist entered the crosswalk while the red light was on and was struck by the vehicle, according to police.

The bicyclist, a man in his 30s, sustained a head injury, police said.

He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment, according to police.

A driver is dead after crashing a car into a pole in northwest Harris County.

It happened along Cypresswood at Kukendahl just before 2:30am Sunday.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy says it appears the driver was speeding and lost control. The driver was dead at the scene.

The passenger was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

A woman was killed after crashing her car into a parked vehicle in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles Sunday morning.

Police say the woman was speeding southbound on Western Avenue when she lost control of her Mercedes SUV and hit the parked vehicle around 5 a.m.

The vehicle she hit traveled 100-feet into a light pole located at the entrance of a McDonald's restaurant.

The woman's Mercedes then overturned onto the sidewalk, before resting against a tree.

Responding officers say the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

A shuttle bus struck a guardrail and overturned before dawn Sunday along busy Interstate 95 south of the nation’s capital, leaving one person dead and sending 16 others to the hospital, Virginia State Police said.

The bus was headed south on the heavily traveled East Coast artery when witnesses reported a white, speeding four-door passenger vehicle swerved into the bus’s travel lane.

Students at a Placentia school are mourning the loss of their classmate, who died after being hit by a minivan while skateboarding. Authorities say the accident happened in the area of Bastanchury Road and Secretariat Way on Sunday just before 5 a.m. Logan Wells, 16, was riding his skateboard near the intersection when he was hit by a Kia Sorento. The driver of the minivan pulled over and called 911.
