A 17-year-old was killed early Thursday morning after the car he was driving reportedly went off the road and fell down a cliff on Maui, according to Maui Fire Department officials.

An MFD spokesperson says that firefighters from Hana and rescue personnel from Kahului responded to the scene of the accident, approximately halfway between mile markers 15 and 16 along the highway, where it was discovered a vehicle had gone off a cliff nearby.

An elderly man is fighting for his life after he was hit by a car in Kaneohe. The accident occurred at 9:40 a.m. on Kaneohe Bay Dr. fronting Castle High School. The 90-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to Emergency Medical Services. Honolulu police is still investigating the crash but initial reports indicate the man was in a crosswalk when he was hit. The car involved was a two-door Volvo reportedly driven by a man in his 60s. UPDATE: The victim in this accident later died of his injuries. 04/25/14.

Honolulu police officers have reopened Kahekili Hwy. in the Kahuku-bound direction near Haiku Rd.

Crews previously contraflowed the road to clear the scene of a two-vehicle crash. Police dispatch says the accident occurred at 11:30 a.m. and resulted in one of the vehicles overturning.

According to Emergency Medical Services, a 77-year-old man was treated and taken to the hospital in serious condition.

A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital after a single-motorcycle accident in Salt Lake.

The incident was reported just after 4 a.m. Tuesday on Sand Island Access Road near Hoonee Place.

According to crews on the scene, a man was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Police have closed are investigating the cause of the accident.

A seven-year-old girl was hospitalized Tuesday after being hit by a car near the intersection of Queen Emma and School Streets.

Honolulu police were notified at 3:07 p.m. Witnesses say she was apparently trying to cross the street when the car hit her and bystanders ran over to help.

A Maui woman was killed during an apparent hit-and-run accident late Tuesday night, according to Maui Police. An MPD spokesperson says Viki Dearforff, 51, of Kihei, was killed when she was struck by a Toyota truck while walking on Piilani Highway. Deardorff was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say that "following the collision the operator of the Toyota truck that struck Ms. Deardorff fled the scene failing to provide any assistance. The incident is believed to be the sixth fatality on Maui roads in less than two weeks.

A Maui woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle in Lahaina on Monday afternoon. Police say 50-year-old Mary Fletcher of Kahului was on her moped, when she was hit from behind by a vehicle on Honoapiilani highway. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries. This is Maui county’s eighth traffic fatality this year.

A 24-year-old newlywed who was honeymooning in Hawaii with her husband died after a motor vehicle collision near Turtle Bay on Oahu's North Shore, according to police. Police officials say the woman was driving a moped in the Haleiwa-bound direction on Kamehameha Highway near the entrance to the resort when she veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a truck. "For unknown reasons, the wife went wide across the double-sided line and hit a truck that was southbound on Kamehameha Highway," said Lt. Robert Towne of HPD's Traffic Division.

There was a fatal crash that happened on Piilani Highway around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say a 28-year-old male from Kula was traveling North Bound in a pickup truck when he drifted into the bicycle lane and struck a bicyclist.

The bicyclist has been identified as 61-year-old Karl Hagen of Kihei.

Hagen was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room where he expired as a result of his injuries.

It’s unknown at this time if speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

A wrong-way driver is being blamed for a crash in downtown Honolulu. The accident happened just before 3:45 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of South King and Bethel Streets. Honolulu police say the pickup truck was going Ewa-bound on South King when it crashed into a sedan driving in the right direction into town. The impact sent the sedan crashing into a pillar. No serious injuries were reported. The driver of the truck was arrested at the scene.
