Two men were killed and a teenager was badly injured after a speeding car hit one vehicle and then struck another head-on along Route 47 Thursday night, authorities said.
Two men were killed and a teenager was badly injured after a speeding car hit one vehicle and then struck another head-on along Route 47 Thursday night, authorities said. Stephen Carsten, 29, of Milville was traveling northbound in a Chevy Malibu when he drove the vehicle across a double-yellow line as it approached a bend in the road and side-swiped a Ford Taurus, Middle Township police said in a news release. Carsten continued to drive in the southbound lane and slammed head-on into an Infiniti. The impact killed Carsten and the driver of the Infiniti, Jeffrey Natale, 19, of Del Haven, police said. Natale's 17-year-old front-seat passenger was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. The driver of the Taurus, James McDonnell, 66 of North Cape May was also flown to the hospital with injuries. Middle Township police and the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the crash.
