A man crossing a street was injured after a car hit him early Thursday morning, according to Northglenn Police. Sgt. Jeff Herronen with Northglenn Police said the car was traveling westbound on East 104th Avenue when it hit a man, who was not in the crosswalk, near Marion Street just after midnight. Police said the victim was unconscious when he was taken to Denver Health. There's no word on his condition. Sgt. Herronen said the driver of the car initially drove a couple of blocks away after the crash, but returned to the scene. That driver is not facing any charges.

Shreveport police are investigating a crash that sent two pedestrians to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, Shreveport police were called to the 1600 block of Kings Highway after a reported vehicle crash involving two pedestrians. Janette Johnson, 55, had been struck and pinned beneath a vehicle traveling eastbound along the 1600 block of Kings Highway. Johnson, who was not responsive following the crash, was rushed to University Health Medical Center where she remains in critical condition.

State police have identified the woman hit and killed Monday night in the 100 block of N. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13) near New Castle. Kimberly Cag, 38, of Delaware City, was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of North DuPont Highway (U.S.13) from the center median, not within a designated or marked crosswalk. She entered the left lane, directly into the path of a 2002 Mercedes-Benz M50 SUV driven by Christina Bentil, 50, of Bear, Sgt. Paul G. Shavack said.

A woman crossing a street in Riverside was struck by a vehicle and killed on Thursday. Police are investigating. Authorities responded to the accident in the area of Alessandro Boulevard and Mission Grove Parkway at about 7:40 a.m. Witnesses told police that a 60-year-old woman was crossing the street without using a crosswalk when she was struck by a gold 2004 Ford Explorer. The pedestrian was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital, where she was declared dead. Her name has not been released.

Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a man who hit by a car while crossing Route 140 in Westminster. The Carroll County Times reported Thursday that the victim was 66-year-old Harry Dowden Jr. Police say he was struck just before 10 p.m. Wednesday by a car driven by a 34-year-old woman. They say Dowden was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing. Police say they do not believe speed or alcohol contributed to the collision.

A pedestrian was killed while crossing John Young Parkway Monday night, according to police. Dale Ippolito, 51, was attempting to cross the street without utilizing a crosswalk or intersection when he was struck by a vehicle heading southbound on the interstate. Witnesses say that Ippolito walked directly in front of an SUV heading southbound on the road. Ippolito was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, and the crash is still under investigation.

Police say a pedestrian was killed while trying to cross New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park. Prince George’s County police say Walter Franco-Chinchilla, 32, was struck by two cars late Saturday night as he crossed the road. He was not in a crosswalk, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the drivers of both vehicles remained on the scene and are cooperating with the investigation. Police say speed is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Police say a woman was hit by a car as she was crossing the street in west Houston. It happened around 3:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 7900 block of Westheimer. Houston police say an SUV left a private drive and was driving west when it hit a 63-year-old woman. The victim was not using a cross walk. Officials say the driver stayed at the scene until police arrived. The driver was questioned and released without charges.

A 64-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car early Wednesday while trying to cross a street near Alameda's South Shore Shopping Center, police said. The victim, who was later identified as Carol Weston, was crossing Otis Drive and heading toward the shopping center when she was hit by a minivan heading east about 4:50 a.m., said the Alameda police. The woman died at the scene. She was not in a crosswalk, police said. The two men in the minivan stopped after the crash and were cooperating with police. The circumstances leading up to the crash are under investigation.

A 38-year-old man driving on a suspended license struck and critically injured a pedestrian with a van Tuesday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. The man was driving a 2000 Dodge van north on Pulaski Road about 8 p.m. when the vehicle hit the pedestrian crossing the street at the intersection with Van Buren Street, police said. The pedestrian, a 34-year-old man, was not in the crosswalk at the time of the incident, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, according to police.
