Phoenix, AZOn Wednesday night in Sun City, witnesses report to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office that the driver of a car drove through a backyard near 103rd Avenue and Boswell Boulevard, where they collided head-on with a tree. The car burst into flames, and the driver, identified as Tor Stobbe, 44, was killed before he could be rescued.

Phoenix, AZTwo people were riding in a car on Deer Valley Road at Interstate 17 when the vehicle left the road and crashed. The two men were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. When emergency crews arrived they found the car on fire. The southbound off-ramp of Interstate 17 at Deer Valley Road was closed after the accident. Police believe that excessive speed and alcohol were likely involved in this accident.

Phoenix, AZIt was about 9:30am when a semi-truck driving on Loop 202 of the San Tan Freeway struck a concrete foundation that was to the right of the road. The collision caused the entire truck to catch fire, and as the driver couldn't escape, they were killed. We will add more information to this accident as it becomes available.

Phoenix, AZAt approximately 10 AM Friday Phoenix firefighter Matt Hiatt was driving his truck in Chandler, Arizona on the Santan Freeway when his vehicle slammed into a concrete foundation of the Dobson Road overpass and burst into flames. Hiatt did not have a chance to exit his vehicle and was found dead at the site of the accident. Investigators are still working the scene, and it is not yet known why Hiatt crashed his vehicle. This is a developing story and we will include more details as they become available.
