One person injured after a single-cab truck rear-ends another and then catches fire on westbound I-20 in Pearl, Mississippi

According to officials with the Pearl Police Department, an accident happened this morning at I-20 and Pearson Road.

According to Pearl police, two single cab trucks collided. One truck rear-ended the other coming down the I-20 West exit ramp.
The driver in the vehicle that rear-ended the truck was airlifted to UMC. His truck leaked oil and gas, and caught fire while he was inside. Firefighters had to cut him out of his truck. Crews were cleaning up the spilled chemicals. There is no word on his injuries.
Both trucks have been towed, and Pearson Road is back open. Pearl PD say to use caution while emergency vehicles are still on the scene.
