A construction worker killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday morning has been identified as 57-year-old Robert Lee Lujan by the Clark County Coroner's office. The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. near Valley View Boulevard and Sahara Avenue. Police say the worker was cutting asphalt in a bus lane on Sahara Avenue, when a Ford F-150 struck the worker, then hit a parked car. Lujan died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Ford, 45-year-old Rafael Mendez-Soto, walked away from the scene, but police later located him hiding in a dumpster at a nearby apartment complex.

A state trooper from the Indiana State Police in Sellersburg was in the process of searching for a man walking along the interstate in a construction zone when a semi truck in front of him hit the brakes and pulled over.That's when the trooper discovered that the driver of the semi had struck the victim, identified as 66-year-old Larry W. Peyton. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner's Office. Now police are trying to locate Peyton's family members.

A Falmouth man is dead after a one-car crash early Thursday. It happened on Route 6 eastbound, near Exit 3 around 1 a.m. A state trooper working a construction detail nearby, reported a car entered the work zone and collided with a flatbed truck. The trooper removed the man, identified as Alexander D. Holmes, 26, from the car and rendered first aid until EMTs arrived. Holmes was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where he later died. Police have not said what may have led to the crash.

A construction worker is dead, killed in a hit and run as he worked on I-459 early Friday morning. It happened around 3:40 a.m. in the active ALDOT construction zone near mile marker 11. Hoover Police confirmed that the victim was identified as Randy Keith Berry, 59, of Cullman. He died on the scene. According to authorities, the vehicle that hit him left the scene. The vehicle was later located in Hoover. Investigators are now interviewing the driver.

Witnesses to a crash on Interstate 95 pulled a woman from a burning pickup truck Monday afternoon, state police said. Amy Strong, 20, of Hampton was driving on I-95 when her 2008 Ford Ranger left the road, struck construction equipment and caught fire around 12:25 p.m., police said. Witnesses smashed out the rear window of the truck and pulled Strong from the fiery wreck, police said. Strong was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Police are investigating the crash.

Two subcontractors working on a lane restriping project on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Fairfield Thursday evening were struck and injured by an alleged drunk driver, according to the California Highway Patrol. The contractors, employees of O.C. Jones & Sons, Inc., were closing the second lane of the ramp from eastbound Interstate Highway 80 to eastbound state Highway 12 using a trailer with an arrow board when the collision occurred around 9:15 p.m., CHP Officer Chris Parker said.

Two people were hospitalized after crashing a vehicle into a piece of construction equipment on the east side of Columbus early Wednesday morning. According to Columbus police, the driver of an SUV traveling south on North Cassady Avenue in the area of East 13th Street was attempting to go around a backhoe that was backing into the street when the SUV struck the back of the piece of equipment at about 2:57 a.m. Police say the backhoe was backing out of a construction project in the area when the crash occurred.

A pedestrian is dead after a two car accident on Highway 51 near Crystal Springs. "I was waiting for the flag man to release me so I can pass and a truck came over a hill and hit me from the back and pushed me in the ditch. My car ran over the flag man," says the driver of the Chevrolet Caprice that hit 39-year-old Garvin Barnes. The driver doesn't want his name released. Barnes was directing traffic while workers were paving Highway 51. He works for Dickerson and Barnes Asphalt Paving Company.

Maryland State Police troopers say two people have died following a three-car crash on I-81 in Williamsport. The State Police says it happened at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say an investigation found that a 2004 Jeep slowed due to a backup related to road construction. Troopers say the driver of a 2010 Ford pickup truck failed to notice the backed up traffic and hit the Jeep, which erupted in flames. The truck then hit a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer.

A car driven by a 37-year-old woman from New Britain crashed into a construction site Tuesday morning on Trout Brook Drive, north of Farmington Avenue, police said. The driver, Ewa Pedzich, and two construction workers sustained minor injuries in the 10:54 a.m. crash, police said. The construction crew was in the southbound lanes on Trout Brook Drive. They work for a company contracted by the Metropolitan District Commission.
